These are the people working with Chabad of RARA — bringing outreach, community and support to rural and regional Australia.

Saul & Beverly Spigler — Presidents
Saul Spigler founded Chabad of RARA in 2000 in the memory of his mother. A lawyer by trade, his passion lies in Jewish outreach — undertaking the original RARA trip in 1977. He has also been instrumental in the recovery of Jewish property lost during WWII.
Beverly Spigler is the sounding board of RARA; she contributes to trips and programs and doubles as the unofficial “party planner.” She often caters Shabbat lunches for 25 people every week.

Rabbi Menachem & Shevi Aron — Directors
Rabbi Menachem Aron, born and raised in Australia, has been active in Jewish outreach and creative community work, both locally and internationally. Since January 2020, he and his wife Shevi have taken on the leadership of Chabad of RARA.
Shevi Aron is also a musician and flautist, teaching music since 2014. She completed advanced Jewish studies in New York and Israel. Together, they are blessed with a daughter and two sons.

Rabbi Yossi & Malki Rodal — Chabad of the Hunter
Rabbi Yossi Rodal comes from California but made Australia his home. Since joining RARA, he has travelled extensively, seeing more of the Australian countryside in a year than many will in a lifetime. Outside community duties, Yossi enjoys basketball and is learning the art of cricket. Together with Malki, they serve the Hunter and Central Coast communities.

Rabbi Ari & Mushkie Rubin — Far North Queensland
Based in Cairns, Rabbi Ari and Mushkie Rubin lead Chabad of North Queensland. They support Jewish locals and travellers across an enormous geographic region — from Townsville to the Torres Strait. Known for warmth, hospitality and boundless energy, they bring community and Jewish life to one of the most remote parts of Australia.

Rabbi Oshy & Liba Goodman — Sunshine Coast
Rabbi Oshy and Liba Goodman direct Chabad of the Sunshine Coast, serving Jewish families across the region including Noosa. With warmth, energy and a growing range of programs, they bring connection and Jewish life to the beautiful Queensland coastline.
Important note:
Funds raised on this website by Chabad of RARA support our outreach efforts around the country.
However, these funds do not support the efforts of the Rodals, Rubins or Goodmans.
To support their efforts and their respective communities, please visit their websites and make a contribution there.
