RARA Jewish Mobile Public Library

Hundreds of Jewish books, travelling thousands of kilometres, reaching readers all over rural and regional Australia.

The RARA Jewish Mobile Public Library (RJMPL) is a fully stocked Jewish library inside a motorhome that travels across Australia. It brings Jewish books for children, teens, and adults right to the people and places that need them most.

You can:

  • Browse on board when the library visits your town
  • Borrow by post using our online catalogue

Who is the library for?

The RJMPL is designed especially for:

  • Families raising children in rural and regional communities
  • Adults who want to reconnect with their Jewish roots
  • People exploring Judaism for the first time
  • Small country communities looking for shared resources

If you’re living away from a major Jewish centre and would love regular access to Jewish books, this library is for you.

What can I borrow?

Our collection includes titles for all ages and stages, such as:

  • Picture books and stories for young children
  • Chapter books and novels for older kids and teens
  • Books on Jewish history, law, philosophy, and Chassidic thought
  • Biographies, inspiration, and practical Jewish living
  • Holiday guides, how-to manuals, and more

The catalogue is always growing as we purchase new titles and receive donated books in excellent condition.

Going further than the road - Educational Programs

The RARA Jewish Mobile Public Library is more than a travelling bookshelf — it is the educational backbone of our community programming. Many of the books, materials, and resources used in our classes are the very same ones available to borrow from the library, helping families learn together at home.

Whether you’re looking for children’s activities, structured weekly learning, or inspiring material for adults, the RJMPL is directly linked to our two major education streams:
