Rabbis Mende Junikl and Menachem Manssouri spent time earlier this week visiting the Jewish people of Geraldton, WA.
Close to five hours north of Perth, this town may be far from the Jewish community, but still home to some magnificent people.
The rabbis visited David, who comes from a Sephardi background, and runs a textile company. David warmly welcomed the rabbis to his shop, and gave them a full tour of the premises. David was able to put on Tefillin for the first time since his Bar Mitzva, more than half a century ago!
The next stop was at Paul, an optometrist who recalled some enjoayble RARA visits from many years ago. Paul doesn't often see another Jewish face, and eagerly welcomed the rabbis.
The last stop of the day was at Don's place. Don has been in touch with RARA for a few years now, and had been requesting a visit for a while. He was so thrilled when the rabbis stopped by for a chat.
As we say, wherever you are, even in Geraldton in Western Australia, you can celebrate your Judaism!
