WITH only about 20 Jewish people in Townsville, a brit (circumcision) is destined to be a major simcha. Melbourne mohel Rabbi Mendel Raskin made a flying four-hour visit to far north Queensland where Israeli couple Avi and Maly Shtevi are living while Avi studies for his doctorate in molecular biology. Baby Egoz's brit was slightly delayed, so that a 10th Townsville man could be called home to make up the minyan.
